Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently under suspension for his incident after the Conor McGregor match, but will return. But who should Khabib fight next, Tony Ferguson? Conor McGregor rematch? Georges St. Pierre? There are rumors that Conor McGregor will face Donald Cerrone for a possible interim title, and with Tony waiting for the title shot who knows who Tony fights next. This is where Georges St. Pierre comes into play.

St. Pierre has made it very clear he only will fight fights that help his legacy, hence his title fight against former middleweight champion Michael Bisping. With St. Pierre never officially retiring, a comeback is still likely, but what fight would truly intrigue St. Pierre? An opportunity to take on the 27-0 undefeated lightweight champion Khabib, makes all the sense in the world. St. Pierre could be the first fighter ever to attempt to be a three division champion with being the former welterweight champion, former middle champion, and if he were to beat Khabib, the lightweight champion. Talk about legacy, that would make St. Pierre a serious contender for the greatest of all time title. Although already in the conversation, with that accomplishment, it would be hard to argue that he isn’t the greatest! The two questions that remain would be, could he make the weight, and would khabib take the fight?

In the era of super fights, St. Pierre vs. Khabib would be on the of the biggest fights of all time and would draw tremendous numbers, so the money is there. But why would Khabib take the fight? After defeating McGregor, Khabib could catapult his legacy as an all timer with just one successful title defense over a legend in St. Pierre. This would make Khabib 28-0 with wins over two future hall of famers back to back! This is a fight where the UFC wins, St. Pierre wins, and Khabib wins.
