Viewing Options
UFC Fight Night 229’s main card kicks off at 7 p.m. ET, and you can watch it exclusively on ESPN+. If you’re eager to catch the preliminaries, they stream on ESPN+ at 4 p.m. ET.
Main Event: Grant Dawson vs. Bobby Green
Grant Dawson (20-1-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) has been on an incredible seven-year winning streak, with the only hiccup being a majority draw against Ricky Glenn nearly two years ago. Apart from that, Dawson boasts nearly a dozen victories, including eight impressive wins within the UFC. Fresh off a decision victory over Damir Ismagulov in July, Dawson faces another tough test in Bobby Green (30-14-1 MMA, 11-9-1 UFC).
Bobby Green secured a much-needed win in July when he submitted former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson with an arm-triangle choke just six seconds before the final bell. Before that, Green grappled with a no-contest result due to an accidental head clash with Jared Gordon and suffered losses to the current champion Islam Makhachev and Drew Dober. Green must hand Grant Dawson his first loss in the UFC to keep his momentum going.
Co-Main Event: Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Joe Pyfer
Joe Pyfer (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) continues to impress, with a first-round TKO victory over Gerald Meerschaert in April, extending his winning streak to four, including two wins in the UFC. With a record of around 5-1, Pyfer enters his middleweight bout as the most significant favorite on the card against Abdul Razak Alhassan (12-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC), who rebounded with a win in January after a tough stretch of four losses in five fights.
Featured Bout: Joaquin Buckley vs. Alex Morono
Joaquin Buckley (16-6 MMA, 6-4 UFC) redeemed himself with a stunning head-kick KO in May following back-to-back losses. He aims for a second consecutive win against Alex Morono (23-8 MMA, 12-5 UFC), who also secured a victory in May via submission against Tim Means.
