A dramatic video captures the moment when a renowned UFC middleweight fighter confronted an individual unexpectedly in front of his home.
The footage begins with someone awkwardly entering the fighter’s driveway between two vehicles. The scene then shifts to show the fighter stepping out of his house and aiming a gun at the individual in his driveway. Another person wearing a red shirt appears, with siren lights flashing in the background. The individual who entered the driveway is next seen walking on the street, but the fighter approaches and pushes him to the ground. While still pointing the gun, the fighter sternly commands the individual to “sit the f*ck down.”
The incident’s timing is uncertain, but Strickland shared his home security footage on Instagram this Monday. The context is not fully clear, but Strickland thought the man was attempting to steal his car. However, it turns out the man was actually running from a security guard following an alleged earlier domestic violence incident.
Below is the video, along with Strickland’s accompanying caption.
“Here’s what I know….
The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house. I initially thought he was stealing my car..
He was arrested.”
Strickland, 32, is currently gearing up for his first defense of his middleweight title. He is scheduled to face Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297, which is set for January 20 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
