UFC 234 winners, what’s next?

The first fight at UFC 234 on Pay Per View was Sam Alvey vs Jimmy Crute in the light heavyweight division. Jimmy won the fight with a first round TKO. The light heavyweight division has a lot of upcoming fights within the next two months with most of the fighters busy and how the Alvey vs Crute fight was maybe stopped a little premature my fight for Jimmy Crute would be a re match with Smilin’ Sam Alvey.

Next on the card was a women’s flyweight bout with Montana De La Rosa vs Nadia Kassem. Montana won in the second round via submission. With three wins in a for Montana she should get a top ten opponent and my pick would be Lauren Murphy.

The next fight was in the Bantamweight divison between Ricky Simon vs Rani Yahya. Ricky Simon won the fight with a unanimous decision. Ricky has a professional record of 15-1 and is 3-0 in the UFC so a step up in competition is a must for his next bout. My choice would be Rob Font, who just upset Sergio Pettis. I believe a Simon vs Font matchup will make a future contender!

The co main event was Lando Vannata vs Marcos Marino in the lightweight division. The “Groovy” one really needed a win, with Lando’s last four bouts was two losses and two draws, he really needed a big time win. Lando won in the first round via submission and with a win in a co main event spot and giant fight will come his way. My choice would be Gregor Gillespie.

Finally, we get to the main event from the middleweight division, it was Anderson “Spider” Silva vs Israel “Style Bender” Adesanya. This is the easiest fight to make, with the boss man himself Dana White saying winner gets a title shot. Style Bender needs to face Kelvn Gastelum or Robert Whittaker for the middleweight championship. Whoever is healthy and whoever is the champion between those two should take on Israel Adesanya for the championship. With Israel being the most exciting fighter in the middleweight divison, the Champ Robert Whittaker would get a big pay day in a Main Event Title Fight.
