The Most Impressive Champ Champ

In the history of the UFC becoming a world champion is the pinnacle for an mix martial artist. There have been only a little over 70 men or women that have ever felt that championship feeling. Now, there are three special athletes that were great enough to capture a championship in two different weight classes at the same time, we call them the Champ Champs. Conor McGregor the first to ever do it, Daniel Cormier the first to do it with including the Heavyweight Championship & Amanda Nunes the first female to ever do it.

Let’s start with the most recent Amanda Nunes, she just defeated Cyborg at UFC 232 to attain Champ Champ status. Amanda is on a 8 fight win streak, piling up wins against all timers like Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate & Valentina Shevchenko. She has cemented best female alive in MMA and while she has been Impressive, to me just not the most Impressive Champ Champ.

Secondly, Daniel Cormier a 22-1 MMA record is outstanding. He has stacked up Impressive wins in Light & Heavyweight divisions including Frank Mir, Anthony Johnson, Alexander Gustafsson and to complete the Champ Champ status Stipe Miocic. His undefeated record at Heavyweight is something to be valued but, for me why is not the most Impressive Champ Champ is his one lost & no contest fights against bitter rival Jon Jones.

My most Impressive Champ Champ title belongs to the Notorious Conor McGregor. Take the outside noise & the crazy press conferences aside what Conor does in the octagon is beyond impressive. First as a featherweight he defeats of Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Chad Mendes & of course KO Jose Aldo at UFC 194 giving Aldo his first loss in over 10 years is an historic run. Then to take his talents up a weight class to Lightweight and to dismantle Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden seals his status as the most Impressive Champ Champ of all time, well at least for now this sport is Bananas!
