Sunday Spotlight on Bella Mir

Sunday spotlight on Bella Mir

Bella Mir keeps on adding accolades and trophies to her young resume. Bella won the 152 pound weight class at USA Folkstyle nationals last weekend. Bella already has a 2-0 professional mix martial arts record and wanted to compete in the nations most prestigious wrestling tournament.

Bella’s run to the championship is something out of a Disney movie. Bella won every match via pin fall which to make an analogy to MMA is via KO. In the championship match she was facing the toughest girl in the whole tournament and the pre tourney pick to win “Outstanding Wrestler”. Bella was losing 8-0 after the first period and in “Mir” fashion put on a tremendous comeback to pin and win the tournament. However, the legendary story doesn’t stop there, her performance was so dynamic the USA wrestling gave Bella the “Outstanding Wrestler” of the entire tournament! I talked to her wrestling coach Don McGregor and he told me “this clearly puts Bella on the MAP!

Bella “Lady” Mir at only age 17 is creating her own pathway into the combat sports world. After seeing her skills late last year at iKON 2 and iKON 4, the MMA world is eager to see her next move!
