

Sherrard ‘The Thriller’ Blackledge has the opportunity of a lifetime on September 8th. The 4-0 welterweight challenger will look to earn a UFC contract, as he features on Dana White’s Contenders Series.
The Maryland native revealed the news of his appearance on the September showcase on his official Facebook page, with an opponent yet to be matched.
Blackledge, 26, is an experienced amateur competitor and holds an undefeated professional record of 4-0. Making his first professional walk just two years ago, Blackledge has picked up two unanimous judging victories and has stopped both Alvin Davis and Brandon Olsen via strikes.
Plying his trade out of Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas, Nevada – Blackledge was set to meet with veteran UFC alumnus, Drew Fickett at RUF MMA 39, until the entire event was shelved.
The September 8th. outing will mark Blackledge’s first since last November – in an annum which included three bouts opposite Eduardo Peralta, and the aforenoted pair of Olson, and Davis. Following that November walk, Blackledge noted his intentions to hold an 8-0 record and earn a UFC contract by November this year – he gets the opportunity to make good on that contract wish in September.
