The UFC has added another Cage Warriors standout to their ranks once more. Current welterweight and lightweight champion, Mason ‘The Dragon’ Jones has put pen to paper on a four-fight deal with the North American based promotion.

The undefeated Blaenavon-based finisher recently headlined Cage Warriors 116 in September – adding the vacant welterweight championship to prior lightweight success with a first-round knockout win over Adam ‘The Love Doctor’ Proctor.

Jones, 25 – has scored four knockout victories and three separate submission wins from a ten-fight unblemished career and ends his three-year stint with Graham Boylan’s Cage Warriors promotion with a deal to link up with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Rhys Jones and Carl Betty product joins a growing list of Welsh talent to make the transition to the UFC, following in the path paved by UFC Fight Island 6 feature, John Phillips, bantamweight contender, Jack ‘Tank’ Shore, and recent Bellator signee, Brett ‘Pikey’ Johns.

With his move to the UFC, Jones also joins a list of former gold holders to transition to the promotion, including ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, who achieved duel weight champion status in both promotions, as well as Dan Hardy, former strawweight best, Joanna Jȩdrzejczyk, former middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, and former Bellator middleweight gold holder, Gegard Mousasi.

Along with his crowning knockout win over Proctor last month – Jones has scored notable victories over the likes of Joe McColgan, Aleksi Mantykivi, Donovan Desmae, and Kacper Formela,
