Rising bantamweight prospect, Tracy Cortez is set to make her first Octagon outing since November last year – as the Arizona native draws Swedish upstart, Bea ‘Bad News Barbie’ Malecki at a UFC Fight Night event on October 10th. A location or venue for the card has yet to be determined by the organization.

Dana White’s Contender Series product, Cortez – made good on her promotional call at UFC Fight Night São Paulo last November – scoring a unanimous judging win over hometown favourite, Vanessa Melo.

The Ultimate Fighter 28 alumnus, Malecki made her professional bow back at UFC Fight Night Stockholm last June – securing a second-frame rear-naked choke victory over Duda Santana in a hometown triumph. News of the bantamweight matching was first penned by MMA Junkie reporters, Nolan King and Mike Bohn.

Three-time Invicta FC feature, Cortez has notched an eye-catching 7-1 professional record since her first appearance just three years ago. The 26-year-old was initially scheduled to meet with the aforementioned, Santana in November – until she was replaced by her compatriot, Melo due to family issues. Cortez’s victory over Melo marked her seventh straight success – in her first test of bantamweight waters.

In arguably the most impressive victory of her career to date – Cortez notched a unanimous judging victory over fellow prospect, Mariya Agapova in a previously mentioned appearance on DWCS in July last year.

Following her submission triumph over Santana – Malecki faced Venezuelan standout, Veronica Macedo. In March at UFC Fight Night Brasília, the Swede secured a unanimous judging win over Macedo – improving to 2-0 as a professional.
