

Former UFC welterweight kingpin, ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler is slated to make his second Octagon appearance of the year, as he draws polarizing contender, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry in an eye-catching pairing at UFC 255 on November 21st. – with a location or venue for the showcase yet to be determined by the promotion.
Last featuring at UFC Fight Night Vegas 8 at the end of August – Lawler suffered a unanimous decision defeat to longtime division contender, Neil Magny, his fourth consecutive defeat loss a close decision win of his own over Donald Cerrone at UFC 214 in July of 2017.
2-2 in his last four, dangerous boxer, Perry returned to winning ways opposite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu based prospect, Mickey Gall at UFC Fight Night Vegas 4 in May, in a decision win. The victory over Gall snapped a two-fight losing run for Perry. News of the intriguing welterweight bout was initially reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani.
Lawler, a former welterweight gold holder, dropped his throne to fellow former champion, Tyron ‘The Chosen One’ Woodley back at UFC 201 in 2016 in a first-round knockout loss. Claiming the crown, Lawler took a rematch win over Johny Hendricks – before scoring highlight defences when matched with Rory MacDonald, and Carlos Condit.
Taking a win over Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira, and the above mentioned, Gall – Perry dropped losses to both Vicente Luque, and streaking striking sensation, Geoff Neal last year. In eye-catching victories, Perry has bested lightweight contender, Paul Felder, Alex Reyes, Jake Ellenberger, Danny Roberts, and a debut triumph over Hyun Gyu Lim.
