Report – Chan Sung Jung vs. Dan Ige headlines UFC Fight Night event on June 19th.

A featherweight matchup between one-time title challenger, ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung and ‘Dynamite’ Dan Ige is slated to take headlining honours at a UFC Fight Night event on June 19th. — with a location or venue for the event yet to be determined by the promotion.

Hoping to rebound to the winner’s enclosure, Jung saw his two-fight winning spree halted on ‘Fight Island’ in October, dropping a one-sided unanimous decision loss to incoming The Ultimate Fighter 29 coach, Brian Ortega.
Himself returning to the win column at UFC Vegas 21 on March 13th. — Haleiwa native, Ige stopped the streaking, Gavin Tucker in his tracks with a stunning, highlight-reel one-punch knockout win with just twenty-two seconds of the opening-round elapsed. News of the headlining tilt was first reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto.
Heavy-hitting Pohang native, Jung has managed to score a 3-2 promotional record since his return from conscription back in February of 2017, taking a main event knockout win over Dennis Bermudez at UFC Fight Night Houston.
Dropping his next outing, Jung suffered an incredible buzzer-beating, upward elbow knockout loss to Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night Denver — in a headlining bout he was winning on all three judges’ scorecards.
Before his unanimous judging loss to San Pedro native, Ortega at UFC Fight Island 6, Jung had scored knockout victories over former lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar and Renato Moicano, bringing his career knockout tally to six — to add to eight submission successes.
A product of Dana White’s Contender Series back in July of 2017 — Ige has so far managed to turn in a 7-2 promotional record, which included a six-fight winning spree featuring the likes of Danny Henry, Kevin Aguilar, Mirsad Bektic, and Edson Barboza.
The 29-year-old Hawaiian headlined UFC Fight Island 1 last July against Calvin Kattar, suffering a unanimous decision loss prior to his March knockout triumph over Tucker.
