Two-weight world champion, Amanda ‘The Lioness’ Nunes will look to score the second successful defence of her UFC featherweight title, as she matches with former Invicta FC ace, Megan Anderson at UFC 256 on December 12th. A location and venue for the card have yet to be determined by the promotion.

Fresh from a one-sided unanimous judging win over another former Invicta FC champion, Felicia ‘Feenom’ Spencer in the main event of UFC 250 in June – current bantamweight champion, Nunes looks to secure her twelfth consecutive victory.

30-year-old Australian striker, Anderson has won two-straight, earning her shot at the 145-pound throne, via an opening-round knockout of Norma Dumont Viana at UFC Fight Night Newark in February. ESPN reporter, Brett Okamoto was first to report the news of the featherweight title pairing.

The consensus greatest female mixed martial artist in the sport’s history – Brazilian standout, Nunes has steamrolled each and every opposition since assuming her bantamweight and featherweight thrones.

From twenty-four professional outings, Nunes has scored a 20-4 record, notching an incredible sixteen stoppages.

Queensland finisher, Anderson – made the transition to the Octagon following aforenoted Invicta FC featherweight gold success. The Glory MMA mainstay has amassed a 3-2 promotional record since.

In win’s under the UFC’s scrutiny, Anderson added the previously mentioned, Viana – to a submission victory over Zarah Fairn dos Santos, and a bizarre opening-round stoppage over one-time bantamweight title challenger, and recent Bellator MMA signee, Cat Zingano. When tasked with overcoming common opponents, Holm, and Spencer – Anderson dropped her first and second Octagon blemishes.
