The bantamweight bow of former UFC lightweight titleholder, Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar, has been relocated for the fourth time. This time, however, the veteran all-rounder will take headlining honours opposite division mainstay, Pedro Munhoz in the main event of UFC Fight Night Vegas on August 22nd. – from the UFC APEX in Nevada.

The Toms River native was scheduled to meet with Munhoz at UFC 251 originally but was then relocated to UFC Fight Island 2 four days later – before that bout was moved to UFC 252 on August 15th. – after the Brazilian had returned a positive test result for COVID-19. According to a report from Combate’sRaphael Marinho – the pairing of Munhoz and Edgar will now headline the August 22nd. event.

Edgar, 38, will attempt to regain the form which saw him challenge then-champion, Max Holloway for the featherweight title last July, having dropped just the second knockout defeat of his storied career, in a first-round loss to Chan Sung Jung on short-notice at UFC Fight Night Busan in December.

São Paulo native, Munhoz is also looking to return to winning ways, after his unanimous decision loss to number-one contender, Aljamain ‘Funk Master’ Sterling at UFC 238 last June. The defeat to the Matt Serra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt marked the first in a three-fight rise for Munhoz – who had bested Bryan Caraway, Brett Johns, and a career-highlight knockout over former champion, Cody Garbrandt.

A welterweight pairing of former interim titleholder, Colby Covington, and former undisputed best, Tyron Woodley was tentatively planned to headline the August 22nd. event, however, the 135-pound meeting of Munhoz and Edgar has been drafted as the curtain closer instead.
