The first matchup would have to be the winner of the main event, Derek Brunson vs Paulo Costa. Both men are top 8 in the middleweight rankings, both men don’t have a fight booked and both men might be only one win away from a shot at Israel Adesanya’s Championship. Derek Brunson mentioned Paulo’s name in his post fight interview and doubled down on it with a tweet yesterday calling out the one time challenger for the title. This one to me is very easy, Brunson verse Costa in a main event of a Fight Night for the number one contender ship for the UFC Middleweight Title.
Max Pain Griffin looked phenomenal in the co main event with a first round KO! The newly minted father is having fun inside the octagon and it’s showing. Talking about having fun, I would matchup Max Griffin against Bryan “Bam Bam” Barberena. These two veteran fighters have been in fight of the night wars and would be a show stealer if they got matched up!
Tai Tuivasa collected his 5th win inside the UFC octagon. I believe Tai is ready for a co main or main event spot and the dancing partner I pick is Tom Aspinall. Tom has a lot of buzz on his name however, Tai Tuivasa would be a big step up in competition.
In match making sometimes the fighters do all the work for us. After his thrilling last second KO, Grant Dawson called out fan favorite Clay Guida. Clay Guida defeated Michael Johnson in February and is always ready for a scrap. Grant “50K” Dawson has never lost inside the UFC octagon and is determined to keep climbing the ladder to UFC gold.
Montel Jackson made quick work at UFC Vegas 22 with a 1st round TKO and jumps his record to 10-2. Montel is ready for a top 15 fighter in the bantamweight division and with Casey Kenney coming off a recent loss to Dominick Cruz. A great matchup would be two high end prospects in Montel Jackson verse Casey Kenney.
