Mike Tyson to Fight Roy Jones Jr. at Island Fights in August/September?

With the term “Dream Fight” over used and over booked, could we see a Dream Fight between Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Jr. on the horizon. With news of Mike Tyson training for a comeback fight, unnamed sources have hinted at this fight potentially happening at “Island Fights 65” as early as August or September.

Mike Tyson the youngest boxer to hold the heavyweight championship might make a return to the square circle at the age of 53. The icon, has some of the greatest moments in the sport of boxing. Mike Tyson was known for his fury inside and outside the ring with stunning KO’s and also his runs with the law. The Baddest man on the planet has had an incredible comeback in the limelight with stand up tour, publishing is second book and being a great advocate for the sport of boxing.

Roy Jones Jr., is known for his amazing skill inside the ring with lightning fast speed and unbelievable power to back it up. The most entertaining boxer both in and out of the ring to ever grace the combat sports world. Roy held world championships in four weight classes. He was the first boxer in history to start his career at Jr. Middleweight and win a World Title at Heavyweight.

Many consider Roy Jones Jr. The pound for pound greatest boxer of all time with holding the most wins in light heavyweight history. Roy Jones Jr. put on a show for his hometown of Pensacola at Island Fights in his retirement fight in February of 2018 pushing his win total to astonishing 66. His ties to Island Fights with his partnership with Dean Toole make this news a little more newsworthy.

At the age of 51, Roy still is in the gym grinding and passing his knowledge to the next generation. The boxing community debates who is the greatest of all time, maybe soon we can see these two legends across from each other inside the ring. If this fight were to take place, we believe it could easily break every record in the history of PPV.

Last night we finally reached CEO & Founder of Island Fights Dean Toole and bluntly asked him if this fight can really happen or would happen under the Island Fights banner, he simply replied “Y’all must’ve forgot”!!! and let us go for another phone call.

What do you guys think about this fight and do you think it’ll happen? We’ll continue digging for more info and see if some more news can be brought to light.
