Jorge Masvidal with the win and knockout of the year so far on Darren Till. The welterweights in the UFC have been the focal point and the feature division in 2019. With Usman and Covington taking smack about who is the real welterweight champion that fight that has to happen!
So, what would be next for the welterweights, with Jorge’s performance in London with Knocking out Till and then 3 piece and a soda Leon Edwards, Masvidal is the hottest fighter in the organization. The only fighter that could match Masvidal’s momentum is maybe the Funky Ben Askren. Ben Askren’s controversial win over Robbie Lawler and his continuous funny callout “Boom Roasted” videos, he could match Masvidal’s momentum. June 8th in Chicago is a rumored venue and date for the hottest welterweight fight in years and with so much on the line, Chicago would be a volcano. Askren vs Masvidal would be for the #1 contender in the UFC’s welterweight division but would be for the hottest fighter in the UFC!
