Manuel Torres Callouts Paddy Pimblett Following Impressive Victory at UFC Mexico

Only three fights into his UFC career, Manuel Torres has already shown a knack for making effective callouts. At UFC Fight Night 237 in Mexico City Arena, Torres quickly defeated Chris Duncan with a rear-naked choke less than halfway through the first round. Following his impressive win, the 28-year-old lightweight from Mexico expressed his interest in fighting Paddy Pimblett, a popular target among fighters.

Torres explained his reasoning for wanting to fight Pimblett: “The truth is, all the people want to fight with him. He is a person who sells a lot. This is a game, and I see myself fighting with him and with the top 15.” He also mentioned his plans to fight again in June, promising, “I’m going to prepare a lot to be ready for June and I promise it is going to be another war.”

Torres’s entry into the UFC came through Dana White’s Contender Series, where his knockout of Kolton Englund in 2021 secured his spot. Since then, he has not disappointed, achieving knockouts against Frank Camacho and Nikolas Motta, and most recently, his submission win over Duncan. These victories have extended his winning streak and earned him an additional $50,000 post-fight bonus.

Reflecting on the experience of fighting in Mexico City, Torres shared his appreciation for the fan support, stating, “It was really exciting to go out in the tunnel and see all the energy of the Mexican crowd. It’s amazing, and I promise I will be back, and I will be back again with a victory.” He also mentioned his preference for fighting in front of a sold-out crowd but emphasized that the crowd’s presence doesn’t change his love for fighting.
