This summer for Bellator MMA in the worlds most famous arena, they announced a blockbuster fight between Lyoto “Dragon” Machida vs Chael “Bad Guy” Sonnen. Machida who recently just signed with Bellator MMA is 1-0 and wants to put some wins together to set himself up with a title fight at the end of the year. Chael P. Sonnen who is 2-2 under the Bellator unbrella has been very supportive of Bellator and will always take a main event fight for the company and of course his own ego.
This fight will take place in the light heavyweight division which Lyoto Machida was a ex UFC Champion in but, Chael has never had success as a light heavyweight fighter. This will be the second time for Bellator to head to Madison Square Garden and they believe the Machida vs Sonnen fight will put asses in seats! Both fighters past there prime with something to prove, the winner definitely jumps into a big fight in late 2019 but, the loser will become a desperate fighter looking for past glory. June of 2019 will be a pivotal fight for two all time greats and it takes place at Madison Square Garden, will it be the night of the Bad Guy or the rise of the Dragon.
