MacDonald & Fitch Majority Draw at Bellator 220

At Bellator 220 in San Jose we saw the last round of the welterweight Grand Prix Tournament between Rory MacDonald and Jon Fitch end in controversial fashion. Rory the champion going into the fight moves on in the tournament due to a draw as the result. Two of the three judges had a 47 to 47 draw with, the third judge having Jon Fitch winning the fight 48-46. Jon Fitch out wrestled and controlled most of the fight to earn himself the Bellator Welterweight Championship but, we all know the saying you can never leave it to the judges hands. Rory MacDonald after the fight talked about not having the drive anymore to fight and defend his title. If Bellator wanted to create drama and storylines they succeeded with that fight result. With the Welterweight Grand Prix down to the final four, I would not be surprised if Jon Fitch found his way back into the tournament. There could be an injury or maybe Rory MacDonald decides not to move forward, Bellator 220 was Bananas!
