A flyweight matchup between one-time title challenger, Katlyn ‘Blonde Fighter’ Chookagian and the emerging contender, Viviane ‘Vivi’ Araujo is currently in the works for a UFC Fight Night event on May 15th. — with a location or venue for the showcase yet to be determined by the promotion.

Sitting at #2 in the official 125-pound rankings, Quakertown native, Chookagian returned to winning-ways at UFC 255 in November, handing the recent division mover, Cynthia Calvillo her first defeat since her flyweight excursion began back in June.
34-year-old Brazilian contender, Araujo has scored consecutive victories since suffering her first promotional blemish against common-foe, Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye at UFC 245 in December of 2019. Returning at UFC Fight Island 8 last month, Araujo earned the #7 rank at flyweight via a unanimous decision win over sport veteran, Roxanne Modafferi. News of the targeted tie was first penned by ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto.
Featuring four times last year, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, Chookagian challenged current champion, Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 247 in February — dropping a third-round knockout defeat to the dominant titleholder.
Returning at UFC Vegas in May — the 32-year-old bested Valentina’s elder sister, Antonina Shevchenko in a wrestling and grappling-heavy display over three-rounds. Featuring at UFC Fight Island 7 in October — Chookagian suffered a late first round knockout defeat to former strawweight champion, Jessica Andrade in the Brazilian’s division bow.
Ceilandia native, Araujo has amassed a 4-1 promotional record since her transition to the UFC back in May of 2019. The former Pancrase strawweight titleholder initially tested bantamweight waters with a knockout victory over Talita Bernardo, before moving to flyweight with a unanimous decision win over former title challenger, Alexis Davis.
After her decision loss to Eye, where the Ohio native tipped the scales at 131-pounds, Araujo managed to strike it right twice with a short-notice unanimous judging victory over Montana De La Rosa, before her January decision victory over Delaware favourite, Modafferi.
