Hermansson, a former Cage Warriors titleholder is now forced on a path to a return to the win column again, following his winning return at UFC Fight Island 2 in July, where he picked up a quickfire heel-hook submission win over one-time interim middleweight title challenger, Kelvin Gastelum.
For Vettori, who entered last night’s headliner as the #12 ranked 185-pound contender, he can expect his name jotted amongst the division’s top-five come the release of the official rankings next week.
With sights set on a potential title-eliminator next, the 27-year-old Italian called for an intriguing pairing with fellow heavy hitter and recent middleweight title challenger, Paulo ‘The Eraser’ Costa.
