‘I’ve been here before many times’ – Dan Ige Maintains Optimism After Defeat to Bryce Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 228

LAS VEGAS – Dan Ige won’t let the latest setback of his fighting career affect him.

Even after a decision loss to Bryce Mitchell during UFC Fight Night 228 last Saturday, Dan Ige (17-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) maintains a positive outlook and believes in his comeback. The UFC featherweight shared his reaction to the defeat in a video posted on Instagram.

“I fell short tonight,” Ige admitted. “I lost on the judges’ scorecards. Small mistakes. I just have to get better and keep chipping away, pick myself up again. I’ve been here before many times. I’ve fallen, and I’ve always gotten back up. That’s the story of my life. Congrats to Bryce. Enjoy the victory with your family, and I’m sure I’ll see you guys soon in the octagon.”

This loss halted Ige’s two-fight winning streak. Prior to UFC Fight Night 228, he secured a knockout victory against Damon Jackson and a decision win over Nate Landwehr. Over his last six UFC appearances, Ige has won two and lost four.
