BKFC host special September 11th. event from Daytona Beach, Florida

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is set to host a special memorial event on September 11th. from the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The event – billed as BKFC 12 is set to commemorate firefighters and emergency responders on the anniversary of the September 11th. 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Philadelphia based outfit will return to production for the first time since BKFC 11 on July 24th. – where former WSOF mainstay, Peru’s Luis Palomino finished UFC alumnus, Isaac Vallie-Flagg in the opening minute to claim the super welterweight tournament win.

While the promotion are yet to officially announce a card – former UFC welterweight title challenger, Thiago ‘Pitbull’ Alves is tentatively expected to make his promotional debut following his signature to the David Feldman banner back in January.

The Brazilian veteran plys his trade out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida – and was briefly set to make his premier BKFC appearance opposite fellow UFC veteran, Phil Baroni at BKFC 13 on September 19th. – until the entire card was shelved amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Another competitor floated to appear at the event is former Bellator middleweight gold holder, Héctor Lombard. The Cuban born 42-year-old made his promotional bow back at BKFC 10 in February – securing a unanimous judging triumph victory over David Mundell.

The twelve fight UFC veteran was expected to meet with fellow Octagon alumnus, The Ultimate Fighter 3 victor, Kendall Grove at the aforenoted September 19th. showcase – with the novel coronavirus bringing a sudden halt to that pairing.

Recent BKFC signing, Paige ’12 Gauge’ VanZant is also tentatively expected to appear at the event, following the signature of a lucrative multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship last week. The former UFC flyweight and strawweight challenger is expected to make her first appearance under the organization’s scrutiny at a November event.

September 11th. will mark the promotion’s return to the ‘Sunshine State’ following their previously mentioned February event, which took place in Miami – with Lombard headlining the card.
