Last week the former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw relinquish his title after he got poped by USADA for a banned substance. The old saying goes “the show must go on” the UFC has to crown a new bantamweight champion.
The bantamweight division has been dominated in the last 5 years by three names the ex champ TJ Dillashaw, Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt. With TJ being out of the picture, Cody losing 3 straight fights and Dominick being hurt the UFC will have to thrust new blood into the division. We have Pedro Munhoz who just TKO Cody Garbrandt, we have Aljamain Sterling who has been flying up the ranks and Raphael Assuncao who has been a top 5 bantamweight for years.
With great choices the UFC has decided to go with the Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo vs Marlon Moraes for the vacant bantamweight championship at UFC 238. Henry who has been pushing for this opportunity to become a Champ Champ and Marlon has been on a tear lately by winning four straight fights against the divisions toughest fighters. At UFC 238 the Bantamweight division takes on a new face with new opportunities for the rest of division to strive for!
