What are your thoughts on the UFC Heavyweight landscape?
Sam Alvey: The Heavy weight division is thrilling right now. Of course DC is the king but with him retiring, it is wide open. Francis is looming and the return of Cain is ominous. Then Stipe is still the most complete fighter in the division. Just lots of fun fights to see.
What’s your prediction on Jon Jones vs Anthony Smith at UFC 235?
Sam Alvey: Nobody in the division can touch jones. He’s leagues above the rest of the division and I don’t see smith standing a chance. I have been wrong before though.
With your fight just being changed, does that mess with your training or just another day in the life of a fighter?
Sam Alvey: I’m always ready to fight. I’m in that gym 3 times a day every day of the year. If I fight tomorrow or 8 weeks I’m always ready to fight.
What would be your dream MMA Fight?
Sam Alvey: My dream fight is against the champion. Whoever is in that title spot, would be my dreams fight.
With 2019 just starting, what would you want for you career entering 2020?
Sam Alvey: I want more people to want to pay to see me fight. I want fights that people will remember forever. I want fights that will rival the greatest fights in our sports history.
