5 Fights to Make After UFC Vegas 32
Sijara Eubanks vs Miranda Maverick
Sijara Eubanks made an emphatic statement with her first fight back in the women’s flyweight division. She completely dominated the fight and finished it off in the first round with brutal ground and pound. Eubanks already has a win in the past against the next challenger to the title in Lauren Murphy and is ranked in the women’s bantamweight division. I definitely feel like she argues a good case to start fighting ranked opponents in the division. One lady that fought last night in a tough fight was Miranda Maverick. Maverick was on the wrong side of a split decision and would be a wonderful stylistic matchup against Eubanks.
Brendan Allen vs Brad Tavares
Brendan Allen is a stud. Two prospects in Allen and his dance partner Punahele Soriano went after it last night and Brendan came out on top. Allen is very well rounded and seems to be able to handle himself wherever the fight goes. He had called out Jack Hermansson in the past to see who the best grappler in the middleweight division is and trust me I would love to see that matchup, but I think he may be 1 or 2 fights away. To get him there I would like to see a matchup against a solid opponent in Brad Tavares. Tavares is on a two–fight win streak and is ranked #13 in the division.
Adrian Yanez vs Raulian Paiva
A superstar in the making, Adrian Yanez got his seventh win in a row this past Saturday night and sixth ko/tko in that streak by finishing Randy Costa. He reminds me of a bantamweight Gamebred. On this same card Raulian Paiva was in a certified banger with Kyler Phillips, got the win in a tough fight and gets a number next to his name on Monday. Yanez needs a shot at the top 15 and what more of an exciting fight than an absolute slugger in Paiva.
Maycee Barber vs Jessica Eye
Maycee Barber got the nod in a tough fight with Miranda Maverick last night and really pulled it out by putting the pedal to the metal in that third and final round. Barber then got on the mic and called for the #8 Jessica Eye for a matchup, and that is something I would agree with. She doesn’t have to sell me too much on that fight! It would be a nice fight for the prospect against someone who has loads of experience in the UFC and if she can get it done, would be a big step in her career.
TJ you Dillashaw vs Winner of Yan/Sterling
Well, he is back! After a 2-year suspension from USADA, TJ is right back in contention for being the king of the bantamweights. He entered into an absolute banger with Cory Sandhagen and was able to edge out the Sandman in a tough and gritty fight. TJ puts himself as the next title challenger with that win and is chomping at the bit to get back his seat on the throne. A fight with either Sterling or Yan will be full of trash talk and high technical skill, and I am all for it.
